Rock Lobster was very much in the Avante Guard genera of the post-pun k scene...then Love Shack happened. It would have been like if Barns & Barns or Surf Punks would have suddenly found themselves with a hit in the mid-80's.

Meh — as much as it saddens me to say it, I think the site does need to die. We need something new, free of Gawker, but withe the same spark of the community that has always flourished here in spite of Gawker and Kinja . Jalopnik needs the same rebirth. -- Keep the authors, loose the accountants.
